Champion Parenting Back-2-School, Tip#4: Establishing an Organized Routine!

It is equally important that children have a routine to follow once they return home from school. This provides structure and meaning to the child’s life and provides more time for families to be together.

School work must be completed as early as possible, free from distractions and disruptions.

Homework should be checked by the parent nightly, at the elementary and middle school level.

A calendar for recording school events, tests, projects as well as family events can be placed where all

can see and update as needed.

Folders can be made and displayed for paper work that needs to be signed and returned.

TV time and computer gaming must be monitored, during the school week.

Physical activities are encouraged as well as recreational Reading and family fun time.

Cultivating and establishing good habits and goals, rules for the home, and

work ethics are valuable ways to establish lifelong learning habits.

Perseverance will pay off as you will see the benefits of your hard work! And finally, remember to take the time to enjoy your children not just raise them!
