Summer is a time to be outdoors with water providing
a wonderful resource to cool down. We are already aware of its
importance to all forms of life, but are you getting enough of
water during the day to allow your body to function properly?
So how much water do you need? According to the Institute of Medicine,
the adequate intake for men is roughly 3 liters (about 13 cups) of total
beverage a day. And the amount for women is 2.2 liters (about 9 cups)
of total beverages a day.
Here are a few simple tips that are easy to implement and remember.
Just keep in mind that all fluids (healthy) can count towards the daily total.
Drink 2 glasses of water after waking up- (This helps activate internal organs)
Drink 1 glass of water 30 minutes before each meal- (This helps with digestion)
Drink 1 glass of water before, during, or after exercising
Drink 1 glass of water before taking a bath- (This helps lower blood pressure)
Drink 1 glass of water before going to bed- (This helps avoid stroke or heart attack)
